Here’s what you won’t find on this site: Links to my social media accounts. Or snippet posts from social media sites. See, I don’t like social media because I don’t care about you. At least not right this second. And when I do care about you and want to have a look at what you’ve been up to I’ll… well, probably I won’t do anything.
Sure, I could fire up Instagram, try to locate your feed, and have a gander, but what will happen is that I’ll get distracted. Possibly by my phone and won’t even get to Instagram at all. Or if I do happen to make my way into Instagram, I’m probably going to forget about you because of all the distractions cleverly built into Instagram.
I want fewer distractions in my life, not more.
My goal here at kyledurlam.com is to create a space that won’t drive you mad from all of the slide-ins, pop-ups, and downright insulting “are you sure you want to leave” messages. It’s a simple place where I will share some pictures I made and write some words about whatever I fancy in the moment. Might be a recommendation. Might be some fiction. Maybe a short memoir. Could be an opinion about something I think is useful. And it might even be the stepping stones of a book I want to write.
What it won’t be is distracting. You can visit or not. I don’t really care. I’m doing this for myself.
